My ADSL line was finally installed this weekend :D I do have a problem though :( After the router syncs with the exchange, the connection speed is 320kb/s according to the router. I have a HomeDSL192 connection, so I guess the throughput is soft limited by the DSLAM to give you 192kb/s. My problem is that the maximum real speed I get is 150kb/s (telkom http test). A friend of mine get's the full 192kb/s (same test). Is it a line problem that I can nothing about (the 320kb/s connection speed suggests otherwise) ? Are there any router settings that can cause this (I'm a noob) ? Is it possible to optimize the connection?

On a side note: Thanks to the guys at Axxess. I've rarely seen such excellent service in my life. I got my connection in 5 min! :D

I really can't see how your friend can get the full 192kb/s.

I just ran the test on the work's 512k line and clocked 428.1 kbps. At home on my 384k line I usually get 320 odd kbps.

Both are roughly 83% of the line speed. 83% of 192kbps = 159kbps = +- 20KB/s, which sounds right from what I've heard on this forum. You're getting 18.75KB/s, probably due to network congestion.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
