Please Help with unsolvable connection problem

Hey everyone, I really need help with something. My sister got Vodacom 3G 500mb package and no matter what we try we can't get it to work. The stupid technicians insist that we install service pack 3 and then everything should work fine but it doesn't. It's an oldish laptop and whenever we try to connect
it tries a bit and stops displaying a message about
"Vodafone Mobile Connection device can't connect right now'

Please help, she already took out a 2 year contract and the stupid Voda technicians can't help her. Now she's paying for service she isn't receiving.

Any help, PLEASE. I'm at my wits end.
 
Which version of Vodafone Mobile Connect is being used?
Does VMC recognise that your 3G device has a SIM card?
Is the SIM card activated?
Is Data activated on the SIM?
Does the VMC window open when you connect the 3G device?
 
Yeah, sorry I didn't reply. We got it working after a LONG battle.
We formatted and put on a fresh windows and voila!
