My hubby bought my son a gold membership on his pc on the xbox website. He is signed in with the same gamertag on his xbox and I believe something called "My communities" should show up on the main xbox menu, but it's not. Under the account info it still shows that he has a free membership (on the xbox not the xbox site) but when you go further into the settings on the xbox it says gold membership and shows some cc info there etc. It seems to me it's not properly activated even though it says it is on the xbox site?

Please help?

I think it was renamed to just "Friends", I look at it almost everyday and I cannot for the life of me remember now. :-) Can you play games online? If you can then you have gold membership.

Ok we have the thing called friends...now he just needs some I guess...I told him to go try and play something online....He should be studying!!! lol

Can you only play against friends (he doesn't have any on xbox) or will it look for random people online to play against? He is playing Guitar Hero 5 atm. I don't even know why I'm here typing, he should be asking you guys!

Have a look here,

http://www.xbox-360.co.za/forum

You can find other local gamers and add their gamertags to his friendlist or add his gamertag there and ask others to add him to their lists. (When added, the other gamer must still accept the friends request)

Hi Jhbgirl.

I suspect that you guys activated a "South African" Gold membership. This is great, but you will find that the content normally under "My Communities" i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Halo Waypoint, etc., as seen on a UK/US account, will not be displaying for you as these services are not (yet) supported by XBL for SA.

Sorry. :|

Good luck.

Ah, that's why I don't see it anymore. Don't have time to twitter and facebook while playing games anyway. But I'm sure it will be added at some point.

The facebook app is a nice way to look at friends' photo's on your big TV. That's about it.

I suspected it's a south african "defect". Oh well. At least he can play online now. Not like R50 a month is a lot anyway. Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.
