please help

as they said, try it on another pc, if you're not seeing it in the bios then you have probably got some big problems.

As far as I know you don't need to be connected to the mboard for the drive to start spinning when there is power.

All you do is connect the molex(Power Supply cable) to the HDD (NB!!..While the power is off at the wall or on the Power Supply!!) and then turn the power back on and start the PC. If the HDD doesn't spin but the PC is definately on then it is gone I'm afraid. If it does spin well then you may have a chance. Also double check that all connectors are not damaged and if you are carefull try wiggle the power plug that goes into the HDD a bit to see if there is possibly loose connection.

Is it possible that you had the underside of the HDD touching the case or something metal while switching it on? Do not let it rest on anything that conducts electricity or generates a lot of static while you test.

hey thanks, i actually had the pc still connected when i was trying all the other stuff so your suggestion might just work ...thanks a mill...will try that before i take it to the techie....

@sharkbait :) actually i got the movies and stuff from a friend and they were in avi format and good quality too....yeah and it was actually alot for me :) about 15 movies and 5 series i just copied them as well so never watch any as yet which is why im stressing cos i wouldnt mind just buying another hardrive...thing is i wont be able to get those movies again...im not a tech expert so i hold onto movies i like etc rather than download or copying new ones cos i dont have the time and i'll probably get lost with some of the technical stuff ...

Soz, I didn't mean to be mean.... (somehow that doesn't look right )

I have a lot of movies and series, if you loose everything :D
