Don't care if it is new or not, actually just need the top part. One of the clips for the cooler broke off on a friends' pc.

Hmmmm...

Your best bet might very well be to contact Rectron or somebody similar to see if they dont have a "junkyard" with such miscellaneous parts wasting space.

Thought about that, but I see most "aftermarket" coolers still use this retention bracket to fit... Will phone Asus and hear if they can help me, since he has an asus board.

Try and get hold of Alex at Asus in Sandton (spares division) on 011 783 5450 - very pleasant and helpful chap.

He helped me with some spares for my 2-year-old Asus motherboard - he didn't charge for them and I collected the next morning!

Yeah, I spoke with Chris and he said he will help me as well, but I have to take the old part to him first and since my friend is in Port Shepstone, it's a bit difficult. We decided to go with the CM Hyper 212+ cooler.
