Today I changed from my IS account to my SAIX account, now when I try browse I get the this site is currently unavailable error but email skype and steam are working fine. There are no proxys enabled and its the same on both PC's on the network. So what is the problem?

could be dns?? add a few. I got these on my network card settings..
196.25.255.34
196.43.1.11
196.25.255.4
196.25.1.11

there are a few more tho.

you can try to ping the url domains(www.asdfg.com etc) in cmd or use nslookup and check how long it takes to resolve ip's.

Ok thanks that sorted it out, but why do I suddenly need them now I have had ADSL since November and never needed them before?

because you have changed from IS to SAIX

Well it must have been on auto in which case it expects the router to autodiscover/find the dns server settings which happens if it gets a response from a dns server in time. maybe your router retained an autodiscovered IS dns server?

I know the link between saix and is is icky.. I dunno.. I just prefer to explicitly put a list of 4 or more in the advance settings of the network card so it auto iterates down to next one. PPP connect on pc can also autodiscover dns.
