Hello there,

After logging onto Forums, I find that if I take long to finish a forum post, when I click on submit, I'm told that I'm logged out --and I irretrievably lose my post which I then have to retype from scratch. Would it be possible for you to lengthen the logged-on time? Or even better, discontinue auto-logoff?

Thanks in anticipation.

I've yet to come across anything closely resembling auto-logoff?

Huh? That has never EVER happened to me.
In fact I don't think I have logged out of MyBB since 2005.

Likewise, I've been permanently logged in for years with firefox on multiple desktop systems.

Sometime back the android app seemed to forget if you were logged in but I haven't had that problem recently.

In my work, most systems do auto-logoff --the server team says that it is to save on server connections (we are over 400000 users); otherwise privately, MyBB auto logs me off irrespective of whether I logon from work or from home.

Makes no sense.
If you tick remember me, it probably creates a cookie that is persisted.

this is not a setting by the forum, it is a browser setting.

as has been said before, click remember me, check browser cookie policy and see if that works

But that would make the problem on your side then, not enabling MyBB to do anything about it. That would fit in with the notion that you're the only person experiencing this problem.

Unless I'm missing something.

click go advanced, you then log in with your post in advanced
