Can anyone recommend a good place to get a water backup solution? Will do this in phases but initially looking for:
  • Municipally-tied line into Tank (2.5kl?)
  • Pump from tank to house
  • All fittings (valves, pipes etc)
  • Filtration (not sure if needed right away)
  • Installation
If you've got anyone you used for all these or if you think its better to source material and just get it installed by someone else please share your experiences. Based in PTA East

Have seen this pricing but they do not do installs

Filtration shouldn't be necessary if you're using municipal... in theory.

At the moment I'm running off our rain water tanks roughly 39% of the time. With all the rain we've been having I expect that percentage to increase dramatically.

you running the same pump? thought i read somewhere feeding into the house from the tanks needs another type of tank...

Looks almost identical to the pump in the OP. I'll probably install a small inline pressure tank to take some stress off it but I've been using it on and off now for over 2 years.

I think you are looking closer to R15k for installation and supply.

I did mine myself and it cost me probably about R11k.

Concrete slab - R2500 (I used premix, but would be cheaper if I bought individual cement, sand and stone)
2500L africa tank - R2000
DAB Pump - R2000 (usually R4500, got it on clearance)
Jojo tank float - R300
Tank to pump connector kits - R300
Piping and connectors - R1500 (30m of piping, but needed only a 1/3rd of it)
Electrical wiring and conduit - R2000 (50m of cable and conduit)

I don't have a filter cos mine is municipal water but will consider filter in the future
