Telkom finally installed my line yesterday. I have a TP Link AC1750 router arriving today and just noticed that it desn't have a built in modem. What is the best place to look for a modem in Stellenbosch/Somerset West area? Should I just go to incredible connection (i suspect they only sell modem/router bundles)? Any specific models/features I should look for if I want to connect at 10 Mbps?

I really want to get this running today, so I'd prefer not to order online if at all possible to avoid.

D-LINK DSL-2500U... cheap enough to replace should anything happen to it and works great on long lines, I find it generally deals with high attenuation and low SNR very well.

+1

1x 2500U as active modem and 2x 2500U in the cupboard as backup when the lightning strikes. Great chipset for longer (poor copper) lines. I had a few modems that did not even wanted to sync where the 2500U sync first try.

(Add a Mikrotik for routing etc, sorted!)
