Not Telling
Hi guys

Can someone please, oh please tell me why my "internet explorer has stopped working" keeps happening!! it's so friggen annoying. It bombs out and then goes back in automatically. I'm not an IT fundi, so no big words 'kay. It happens whether i have one tab open or six.

I'm on iBurst if that means anything. It's been happening for a couple of months now.

Tanks

I think it's time for the switch to Firefox. I hate internet explorer with a passion! I know some might not agree with me, but I've never had a problem with firefox.

+1.

Although to be fair, FF is not without its problems. It has way less problems than IE though

Doubt Iburst has anything to do with this.

Use Firefox. Don't use IE.
And there will be less problems.
It is not iBurst's fault.

It could also possibly be your signature.. that could be breaking your browser. I know mine has a wobble and puts on sunglasses with anti-sis lens.

Thanks peeps!

But it never did it before, I've had the net at home for almost 2 years and it's just started this recently. could it have anything to do with me messing around on the network set-up trying to connect xbox to xbox live a few months ago (but even then it didn't do this afterwards)

OK, then the big question:

how do i change to firefox? is it summing i can do myself or do i need to buy a whole lot of crap?

Butterfly, I never us IE, so I can't help you fix any problems, but if you don't wan't anymore problems (and virus threats) then use:

Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefo...m_medium=ppc&gclid=CLmNtMil2J0CFdBb4wodlA1OsA

or

Chrome http://www.google.com/chrome/index....aign=en&utm_source=en-ha-row-bk&utm_medium=ha

Or

Opera http://www.opera.com/browser/next/
THANKS

i just downloaded google chrome, now don't laugh, turns out that was my browser already (i thought it was just the search engine my friend put on for me) and no sooner had i loaded it, did the error come up again and IE restarted! what gives?

So what is the sequence of events?
I'm not sure I follow you 100%.

Was IE closed down?
And then you started up Google Chrome?
Which then caused IE to start up all by itself, and IE then crashed again?

i clicked on the link provided above, did the google chrome download and launched the browser (that's when i discovered that that's what i was using), then went back to one of my other tabs i was surfin' and the screen went "pale" (dunno tech term) as usual, little window came up "internet explorer has stopped working" and right after that "internet explorer is restarting". i notice it happens when i close one of the tabs once i'm done surfing, but not exclusively.

Well you've got me...
Try FireFox (And make sure all other browsers like Chrome & IE are closed down before you start browsing with FireFox).
If you still get an error message like that then I suspect a virus on your machine.
A reboot might also be handy before you start testing this.

m'kay thanks. i'm doing a virus scan rather. because to switch off and wait for boot up takes forever too (my IT fella said this could be due to a virus too).
