Plex help

I hate the new Plex Home Theater...what happened to the preferences page? and the view settings????? :mad:

And i cant press "c" on my music folder to shuffle and play anymore. You have to do that on the specific artist or album :mad:

Settings is still there, which ones you looking for in specific?

The shuffle thing is a very sore point for me too, none of the Plex apps can do this. I hope they add this "functionality" sometime soon.

Like selecting themes and UI sounds and stuff of the sort...I was ready to remove my windows apps (windows media player specifically) because i thought i have an all rounder...but since shuffle is gone I have to sit with WMP.

I did a fresh install of windows 7 yesterday, do i still need to install codecs or will Plex play my mkv files?
 
Ok what's up with this? Home Theater and Media Center???

Yes, you can remove it but it doesn't really do anything in the devices list so you can leave it there too if you want.

I'm not sure about Windows codecs, but I would make sure you have the codecs installed so it wouldn't need to transcode unnecessarily.

In the menu, if you press "left", then you will find your preferences menu. You will be able to shuffle all your music if you use the MediaStream theme.

There are lots of bugs in the MediaStream skin.

They must implement shuffle (for all) on the Roku app. I don't use the Plex Home Theater app but thanks for the tip.
 
So I have another computer and this stupid homegroup is not working. I cannot see my media files on my main computer,

How do I set up plex on the other computer to see the media files on my main computer?

Windows 8.1 is on both machines and both is on the same network.

I want Plex on the Bedroom PC to see all of my content on my Living room PC. How do I do this?

Is it on the same network as the Plex Media Server? If so all you need to do is install Plex Home Theater on the machine and it will pick up your server automatically, along with your media. You shouldn't need to do anything else.

Yes it is on the same network. For real? I don't need to do anything?
But shouldn't I then also install the MediaServer on the other machine?
 
Cool, im trying to install on the bedroom PC but this mofo app doesn't want to install. will check it out later.

I am also looking for the thread that tells me how to install SAZNB or something like that to download your series automatically. Can anyone provide a link?

What happens when you try to install? I know a few people have been getting incomplete files when downloading from the Plex servers, best way to make sure your file is intact is to use a download manager and check the size when you're done.

Yeah incomplete files... Updating windows quick then I'll give it another try.

Thanks for link, will do that soon.
 
Anyone else having problems with H.265 (HEVC) encoded files?

I have the latest plex server version on Windows.

When playing the video it buffers every 15 or so seconds.

Other formats play fine.
