Plex on Roku stopped working

As per the title, I've got a NowTV (Roku) with Plex on it and my Macbook Air as the server.

Never a seconds problem until tonight when I fire up Plex and it isn't showing anything on the home screen other than a blank icon under 'On Deck'.

I've switched everything off and on, checked network connections and updated my library. The MBA still sees the Roku and has it listed, and the Roku still has the MBA listed as a server. Still, nothing.

So I'm stumped. Anyone???

Good idea, I loaded Plex on my android phone (Z3) and all working well, so it's not the server.

I've been using it on this box for about 2 months only but for much longer on another 2 the same. I had to sideload the app onto the box as it's a NowTV box and it only takes one 'unofficial' app.

I'll keep trying and if I can't figure it out, I'll give Rarflix a bash.

Plex on Roku is free for one month. Then you need to buy or use a free version called Plex Rarflix (or just Rarflix). Try installig it and see if it work

I know it's an old version for the NowTV, but I've had it on this box for about 8 weeks as I installed it when I bought it in the UK. I've had it on other boxes for over a year too. But anyhoo, I'm downloading the Rarflix app as we speak so I'll just go and do that because obviously something has gone t!tz up somewhere and I've got Downton Abbey to watch

Same look and feel. I just had a more positive experience from rarflix. Keep us up to date.

if it helps, i have two nowtv clients sideloaded with plex and (coincidentally) right now just took a break from a series to browse a bit...so as of now, it isnt something nowtv themselves have managed to do/forced upon us

Ok, so I sideloaded Plex Rarflix and it was exactly the same deal :wtf:

So I thought I'll remove my MBA as a server and try to add again. I had to do the add manually and it then told me that 'the media server is running too old a version, please update'.

Hmmm, so it seems like it's a simple update the server thing so I'm downloading it now. Strange though as it worked on my phone with the MBA as a server????

So ja, waiting on the download

That was my next suggestion, Plex recently updated the Plex app on Roku and I think it stopped supporting older server versions.
