I have bought the Android app and have been using it without too many issues for more than a year now.
Also have AppleTV, iPhones and iPads, but they all work without any issues.

Figured out what the problem is. I have the Plex app installed on my LG, this forced WebOS to be listed under my devices as the server, and disabled the Plex Server on my desktop under my devices. It is still listed , but you can only have either/or.
