An IP ban is normally temporary, what was the "whatever reason"?

You may be able to get a new IP by simply turning off your router for about 30 minutes and then starting it up again but this depends on who your internet provider is as they may supply you with a static one.

It was either banned for cheating, spamming or uploading virusses etc. Its not specific. Im with Legends and asked them to assist with a new ip. Someone will phone today. But was hoping to sort it out last night. Man its confusing to someone who has no idea what to do

I had exactly the same issue when I went over to a WiFi service provider. Even if you do get a new IP it should last maybe an hour or 2. As far as I know, there are ports that your ISP must open from their side otherwise the same thing is going to keep happening. Can't give you the ports or anything now as I am at work and everything gaming related (or even fun related for that matter :) ) gets blocked. I did a quick google search using 'psn ip ban fix ports' and it looks as though it should give you the ports you need to be opened :)
Hope this helps.
