Plug and play solar- safe? Worth it?

The site you linked in .za sells standard solar equipment which isn't whats in the video. If you're going for that sort of thing (a standard setup), fine no problems, but any installer sells that. The mass consensus is that Sunsynk inverters are best bang / buck though.
 
Of course it will work during load-shedding!
Otherwise what is the point?
Not a word said about feeding back to the grid
In any case, the solar panels are limited and optional
Most of the charging is via the mains
Certainly better than nothing at all
But the trick is to only use it with a maximum load of 200 watts
Think of it this way: you have a home with existing AC electricity @50Hz. Whatever AC waveform you couple to it, needs to sync with it. You can only have one authoritative source of timing for the wave, when there is more than one, there will be a disaster.
