Hi,

I recently moved from a capped to uncapped 1-4meg service with plugg.
The capped service performed well.

Initially the uncapped service seemed comparable.
After downloading about 6 gig afterhours they shapped my account down to under 1 meg for all access - local and international and all protocols.
Tests actually show I am getting around 800Kb/s

Having hit 6pm they seem to have relaxed the shaping a bit - I now get 75% of what I was able to get (my line is locked to 2Mb).

Having queried this with support about how they shape and what the thresholds were I was told that this information is not available.
They are also not recommending that people move to this service from the capped one!

How rediculous is that.

They are selling a service under false pretences and not making customers aware of restrictions.
I have asked that this be escalated to IS for clarity.

Come on Plugg - shape up! (get it :) )

Welcome to 2010 and the uncapped debacle. Have you tried MWEBs uncapped solution? Just fill out the forms and migrate.

Blame Seacom. Before they started having issues mweb was never down, ever! Hopefully they sort their **** out.

further to my post yesterday.
Plugg have shaped me down to 180kb!!!! all protocols all destinations - I am back to dialup speeds.

They have again told me that uncapped dsl is not for downloading! but for browsing.
If I expect performance I need to move to a capped account.

They are selling bandwidth for R22/gig but only if you complain otherwise you get ripped off at R75/gig.
I have escalated again for a written response.
This is practically fraud.

DO NOT USE THEM!!
