I just got my modem today, but after following the instructions i dont get a green light on my "connect light", in my network place its shows status = network, and conectivity = local only plz help!!!

Just a few questions first: (1) Make and model of your modem (2) Line speed and service provider (3) OS - I'm guessing Windows Vista, right?
