Power went out at exactly 6PM and came back at just before 8PM. A coincidence or are power cuts back? I haven't seen anything in the local paper. I wouldn't be surprised if they just re-introduced it and cut off people without warning

We got cut in Hillcrest around the same time. So, yeah, power cuts seem to be back. That invertor I bought will have to be dusted off !

My UPS failed to stop my PC crashing . Second time this has happened now

Alanf, when you say that do you mean the UPS didn't last long enough for a shutdown or that a spike caused your PC to crash?

there was a warning in the Mercury this morning ... along with a Areas Groups schedule "in case Eskom needs us to do emergency load shedding. Dunno about PMB, but must be something similar :o

Was cold and raining which when we usually get hit by power failures. Could still be a freaky coincidence but I doubt it

PMB is always hit first as far as I know ........ "oh we need more power, we'll hit down that backwater, they won't miss it" :D

We got it heavy well after others had gone down :P

Just read in The Witness that there is now an "emergency load shedding" schedule.

Link dead. I got home yesterday and the missus had clipped something from the Witness indicate a twice daily 2 hour schedule the the whole PMB area. Haven't experianced it.... yet. I just knew it would be back
