POE Door bell with Electric door/gate trigger

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a Video ethernet or WiFi door bell with a gate/door/solenoid type trigger.

The use case is I would like to trigger my electric gate to open from the door bell app on my phone. This seems like an obvious use case to me but as far as I can see the popular brands don't cater for this. e.g Ring, Remo, Nest.

I managed to find one online that meets this criteria but it looks abit old school at only 720p, and I can't seem to find any good reviews of it or more importantly its mobile app.

Basically my ideal spec would be the following
  1. Full HD
  2. No battery - POE preferred
  3. Ethernet preferred but wifi ok
  4. Gate trigger
  5. Motion detection
  6. A good mobile app
  7. Local storage (SD Card) - No cloud crap
  8. Don't mind importing (Amazon etc)

Has anyone out there come accross one like this, or even better actually used it themselves ??

The hikvision door station above is the one I have and has the wiring to trigger whatever mechanism you want for opening your gate and Integrates with the hik-connect app on your phone.. as a bonus, should you have a NVR already, you can the feed from the camera added to the nvr for recording, at least on a hikvision NVR this works..

Yeah it looks very nice... Down side is its only 720p and no internal storage... Guess its meant to be used with NVR for persistence.

Makes my random Chinese one not look too bad at only R1000 - shipping .. assuming it lasts longer than a few months lol.

Anyone know of any other options?

This one should work as well, spec sheet claims access control, which should mean it contains the required wiring to hook up to your gate.. @SAguy has this one I think and can confirm..

It's not perfect, but the things that make it the best match for me is:
- The ability to open/close my door from the app (whether I'm home or not) or via the indoor hikvision touch screen
- Acts like a normal IP camera and is always recording to my NVR

No internal storage though as you've noted, but that's not important to me as I record to NVR.

I read it can actually write to NAS aswell... Seems like a good product. Will see if I can get my hands on it

I got mine from Communica. One thing to check though, I'm not sure if it can function with HikConnect (the Hikvision mobile app) only. It may need the indoor touch panel station to go with it in order to work with HikConnect.

Ahh I see the Hikvision DS-KB8112 needs the touch panel, but the Hikvision DS-KB8113 can operate independently Source

Hopefully I can actually find one, I only see the 2nd gen around

Yes, I got a hold of a DS-KB8113...worked as expected...build quality is amazing. The app is pretty basic but works well, camera and sound quality is good.

As for the gate trigger I did need to make some modifications to get it to work with my Et 500 gate motor.

Shorten relay trigger with capacitor?

So I have a Hik-Vision DS-KB8113-IME1 IP door bell that has a "door trigger" relay that you can fire from the app. I hooked this up to my old school ET 500 Gate motor as it has a wire in trigger. The trouble is the relay on the doorbell is set to its lowest "open time/ trigger time" of 1 sec...
