Hi guys,
Need some recommendations regarding point to point microwave link. We currently have one installed between 2 buildings. However it is a fairly cheap Mikrotik version and really bad. I need to decide if we are going to pay for the tar road to be opened up and install fibre between the 2 buildings. Or are we going to rather invest in a better P2P link. I can't really say that i have experience with P2P links.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I use Ubiquity building to building kits at a few of my clients. I know stock has been a problem recently though.

If it is important, go with the fibre route, it will be more reliable and faster and future proof.

60Ghz links suffer during rain. 5Ghz links are slower speed than 60GHz links. With wireless you might get a 1Gbps throughput. With fibre you can do 1Gbps, 10Gpbs, 40Gpbs, etc. Plus you can put down multiple fibre cables for redundancy.

60Ghz does suffer from rain fade, but with decent kit ($$$) you will get better performance, and the short distance between buildings might mean you almost never go down.

In the unlikely event that you actually need more than 1gbps, fiber is the way to go.
