Police face elite unit revolt

I dunno ... maybe change their line of work?

I get what you are saying from purely a money perspective ... but I certainly wouldn't want to risk my life every day in the armpit of the world, for people who I don't know from adam and who are arguably getting up to some dodgy shyte in the first place

And do what? These guys cannot just go and get a desk job. Do you know what it takes to be a STF member?
Its not just about money but when you have a gvt hellbent on making your job impossible to do and taking you for granted, what do you expect?

I don't disagree with you, but I would hazard a guess that rather than the move being the "best" one they've ever made , it could rather be described as the only one they thought they had.
Think about it charna ... Iraq, Afganistan etc etc ??? I think I might rather squirt sulfuric acid up my bottom

Well this is what I was told by guys there. So I am going on their experiences. Still have a few in Iraq but many in Afghan.
Why you think so many spec ops guys in the US left as well? Went private sector. Why do you think XE is such a success?

Not the type of guys I'd want to p1ss off.. I'd make a plan if I were the government.

Zumatello & co will only click when they no longer have any specialist VIP protection staff left, it's a function the STF performs on occasion.

The Best Team in the SAPS... please don't break it! Please. I really like these guys because when they arrive at the scene you know that they will leave nothing less than body bags behind...

That's never their intention, they're not gunho-ho. Their main objective is for a positive outcome where no one gets hurts but boy try and push them and you are more than certain to leave in a body bag. They're level headed guys (part of selection criteria) but don't even think of trying your kuk with them.

A lot of these guys do this job because they love it - the danger, the adrenaline. But at the end of the day, they need to eat, and so do their families. All things being equal, wouldn't you want to work for a PMC that pays you well, appreciates your work and will give you decent medical care - as opposed to a government that doesn't give a s**t about you?

Probably one of the most disgusting and most stupid comments I saw here on MyBB. Idiot.

Oh please, spare me the melodramatics. He's a well trained officer. It's completely unprofessional to make statements to the media, let alone comments that not only put the organization (that he's willing to die for) in disrepute but at the same time is insulting higher ranking and senior officials.

People with special training on trading of lives should know when to keep their mouths shut.

My personal opinion is that you need a good klap around the head. These guys do more than anybody else for this country, they put themselves in very dangerous positions on a daily basis and ask for very little in return. They have wives and children and you want names? Go fsck yourself is the way I feel right now, actually fsck you!

you cant kill loads of people if you have a desk job. Its against the law. Also doesnt pay as well.

Sorry but what complete rubbish, these guys have nowhere to turn to, no support. In desperate time, desperate measure are required.
Do you think this decision was taken lightly? It does not put them in any danger
People with these skills should be looked after. These are the guys that do the most terrible jobs to make sure we are the ones that sleep well at night.

Once in that line of work - it'll be hard to find something offering the same rush and kicks...
