So, earlier today i was in the cbd and this dark blue e class merc pulls up alongside me at the traffic lights, 4 uniformed cops inside.

i look again & see the car has a number of what could be antenna on it - not sure.
the items were about the size and shape of half a can of coke, black, looked like they were rubber coated.
the car had 2 on the bonnet (near headlights), 4 on the roof (each corner) and 6 on the boot (1 on each corner & 2 in the centre).

was tempted to try get a pic, but 3 of the 4 occupants were looking at me.

what on earth would this car be used for ?

Perhaps assigned to a foreign diplomat. Those front aerials are for flags I assume. Not comms
Lol you should see inside Zuma's bmw 7 series. That car can withstand a beating

dip cars usually have side mount flag holders.
protection units may not use flags either tho, only the car carrying the diplomat.

the things above the headlights were identical to the other 10 on the body, unless it was for an african leader who insists all cars are festooned with flags - you know, to look terribly important and all

Hmm don't know unless perhaps it was TRT guys ?
We're they in normal police uniform and not wearing berets?
Could also have been STF but they don't wear blue police uniforms they wear camo

Those are rubber stoppers for the new recruits. The new ones tend to get yolo after realising the German beast is faster than a donkey cart.
