RESIDENTS of Bellville, Cape Town, were left shocked after a police van collided with a delivery bike rider. The accident occurred on the evening of Monday, 23 June, resulting in the rider's death. According to witnesses, the police van drove into the back of the motorbike, resulting in a fatal crash. A video widely shared on social media shows the wrecked bike lying in front of a marked police van.
In the video, the victim lies on the road, bleeding heavily. A woman is heard crying in the background.
A person narrating in the video places the blame on the police.
"The bike driver had the right of way. The cops just crashed into him. All these things happened while I was sitting inside my car in the parking lot.
