Yeah - if you have a modded/chipped console I would stay away from XBL for a while until they can work out why the consoles are being banned or if there is a workaround. Maybe a new firmware will fix it up - who knows.

you make a very valid point... but then again... they say that xboxes have been 'flagged' and are only banning in waves now. you know the whole ban before Christmas conspiracy. SO technically modded consoles are already banned. They just need to go online and enter '****ed up mode'.

so whether there is a workaround or not, from what i can gather, your xbox just needs to go online and get a 'lol bant' message. i'm not sure though

Mine's not modded or chipped.

I had to laugh at this ad i just saw on Gumtree, looks like a sure seller
"Modded Xbox 360 for sale
Reason, Banned from xbox live and
dvd drive is a bit unstable"

yaaa the R100 xbox game boys are gonna get their day. Good riddance in my books.

lol. So for R20 they might not be able to play online, but they can still play single player. I don't think a lot of people with pirated games play online anyways, so it's not really a loss for them.

How many Xboxes have you chipped?

Plenty as that is the clients choice. Providing a modification service like I and many establishments do is perhaps part of the problem but piracy in itself isn't a good thing.

Going online with a modded console and playing copied games nogal, is asking for trouble especially with Microsoft's ban wave every November.

You miss out one year then they catch you the next. High risk stuff!

I state clearly on my website that using a modded console on Xbox Live is done at your own risk. It is what it is

I wonder if they bought it and thought, 'l chose this because I can chip it ...'

Ask them, ask everyone to PM you personally and then decide. I am sure the prospect of owning cheap games played a role. Go check at the flea market how many people pick up new, YES NEW, pre-chipped PS2 and Xbox360 consoles.

As Maestro say he just do the modding service on request he is not responsible or assisting anyone to pirate.

Dude dont stress it, these people are in a serious minority, they just dont get it, so rather just leave them to rant.

Stock standard. Not flashed or chipped.
I buy games second hand since I do not feel the need to (or have the time to) buy and play the latest games.

The only feature I'm interested in removing is the region check, both for games and movies. I don't know of any modification that achieves that. It's one of the things that makes the PS3 unviable as a primary blu-ray player and the Xbox 360 as a primary DVD player.

Second Xbox 360. Flashed and banned. If only they left the install feature intact. Seriously, losing Live is one thing (which I accepted even BEFORE buying the console), but DISABLING features on your console not even linked to the Live service is just being an *******.

Good reason to get a PS3 as well. PS3 for multimedia capabilities, worthy multiplayer games, free multiplayer service and local cap. Oh and to play the games not available on 360. Use the 360 for everything else. Best of both worlds. TBH.

Even getting a new 360 every year is still better. Already saved about R34,000 by not buying the games on release day. Still win at the end by a LARGE margin. ;)

I've already seen posts about people wiping their profiles and creating it again and then they're able to use the install feature again. Still banned though.
