Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to confirm if removing the resonator will void the warrenty / service plans on an extended warrenty for the polo 2017 GTI.

I had a whole bunch of different answers on this, and one of my mates never had an issue with his.

Im looking for some nice sounds but i dont want to shoot myself in the foot

I didn't come here to be a great help. I came to remind you that VW has been building motors for quite a while, and they are very reliable.

If you want a car that is naturally fast and loud, buy a Lexus LFA or a Ferrari. Oh wait...

Why do you want a shitty car to be even more noisier than it already is? If you want loud, go buy a naturally aspirated V6 or V8.

You can even do a full system exhaust as long as you don't mess with the ECU/TCU software.

Edit: @pandabearza fair warning if you get a cheap system its gonna sound like a ricer and if you encounter a car that's properly modified you gonna regret that exhaust system.

Be careful how creative they can be in blaming your modifications for something going wrong.

Manufacturers will tell you mods won’t affect your warranty, but when you actually need any work done they will deny coz of the mod. So if you are worried about your warranty don’t do it.

Back on topic, I had this situation when I wanted to upgrade the radio in my current car.

Despite what they say, be very careful.

I spoke to a mechanic working in the workshop at my dealer. He said that if you change the speakers or radio, ANYTHING that breaks which has ANY connection to the radio will be blamed on you and they will not honour the warranty. Everything from the battery, to the alternator, to the electric window motors.

Sounds like you're being set up for a bad time imo
