One of my cars headlights is fused. What would be the best to replace it with? 2 Standard halogen bulbs, 2 LED bulbs or a HID kit?

I'm happy with the standard lights, but what merrit is there for changing to LEDs or HID?

I'd stick in two Osram Nightbreakers. Standard fittings, no hassle with poor focus like on a cheap HID kit, and much better penetration than a generic bulb.

IIRC Phillips also do a range of decent bulbs.

Please for the love of God, do not buy a cheap HID kit. They look terrible and blind everyone on the road.

Just stick to what the car was designed for. Maybe get the nightbreakers in cool white.

Keep it classy...

Almost forgot about this thread. I'm just going to have VW replace the bulb with their standard bulb. I never had time to look for other bulbs.

Another factor is it is not an easy job to replace the fused bulb because the diesel filter housing and water bottle needs to be removed first. That's why I'm taking it to the agents.

What?
It funny that everyone lost their minds when the Meg 2 had a access hole in the wheel arch to replace bulbs and "it took so long" compared to other cars of the same age. Seems that Renault was just in front of the pack in development at that time....
