Something strange happened the other day. I opened the drivers side electric window whilst simultaneously switching off the aircon and was suprised by the sudden change in direction as the window started to close instead.

I blame it one the German language setting in my car. As my Polo said, "Du wirst tun, wie ich sage".

Could it be something as simple as a blown fuse or am I in for something greater? Your experience with electrical gremlins will be greatly appreciated.

Does it happen all the time now? If not then ignore it until it becomes a problem, which may be never.

I'll check again this morning to confirm.

Did you hit a bump?

Not at that exact moment. What are your thoughts on the potential damage, the electrics could have suffered, hitting a bump?

I've also picked up that the cigarette lighter is not working either.

Fuse blown. If not going to cost millions to fix.

Do you think the blown fan resistor could also be the cause? Fan speeds 1-3 don't work...only full blast

If the fuse is blown it does point to a short somewhere in the wiring system, also check what the fuse for the cigarette lighter has in common with the other issues.

Thanks for the advice, I'll take a look :)
