I bought a VW Polo 2009 about 3 months ago. It currently has 73500km on the clock. The service schedule states that my 75000km service should be done by 75500km or 25 July of this year. Now yesterday on the 26th the INSP indicator came on.
My question is. Can I wait until 75500km, or does it have to be serviced now.

You can service now. It's 75k km's or 1 year from last service. Servicing around 1500kms each way (73500 or 76500) is fine too.

Please let us know how much the service costs. If I am not mistaken the 75,000km us a cambelt service.

That's very decent pricing, my bad for thinking its 75,000km. I think on the new Polo it is 120,000km ?

120 000km seems much more right.

I wouldn't buy a car that needed a cambelt at 75k.

Golf's are at 180 000km only.

My old Astra needs a new one every 75,000km :o Its on the 3rd cambelt now. Timing chains are not bullet proof either, I know of a C180K that cost the owner R35k for a new timing chain at 140,000km

Did the first one go at 75000km though?

Often they'll change the cambelt when the waterpump goes by default, not because the belt is actually buggered.

Which is why I implore people to pay the extra money and have their waterpump and thermostat changed with their first cambelt service and soak up the cost because later down the line it will be a surprise and cost you more overall.

And there's no chance in hell I would pay 35k to change and timing chain.

Completely agree with that. Had to be changed every 75,000km - did the waterpump and thermostat along with the belt on 150,000km.
