This is a weird one. I recently bought this car. It idles fine. Acceleration is fine. No issues there, but the accelerator pedal does not respond where it should.

Press down on the accelerator and nothing happens for a good two inches, then it suddenly responds. I'd estimate it about two inches where nothing happens.

I thought no problem, just check for slack on the throttle cable and adjust it. But I found there's no throttle cable, it's all electronic.

Any idea how to fix this?

You do realize 2 inches is 5 centimetres? How long is your pedal travel if you can depress an accelerator for a whole 5 centimetres without any movement?

Jokes aside. Send it back to the dealer you got it from and let them deal with it, also did you not test drive before you bought it?

If you bought it from WeBuyCars then you deserve it.

Okay, maybe I'm terrible at measurements. Anyfart, you have to push the pedal down pretty far before there's movement.

I dismissed it as shitty clutch control from the first time behind the wheel of a different car.

Bought it from a reputable dealer, it's going back on Monday.

Sooo.... I'd prefer responses from people that's keen on shedding light on the question itself. Just in case it's something small and stupid I can fix myself.

Usually this can be adjusted.
@epah is right you should send it back to the dealer, let them sort it out.
I'm assuming its under warranty so I wouldn't go fiddling with it.

cars with electronic throttle bodies don't have adjustable accelerator cables like older butterfly type throttle bodies, if your car has a electronic throttle body it has a electronic accelerator pedal

Nope, unless its just a plug issue which I doubt, why would anyone be messing there

electronic accelerator pedal, should be a 6 pin bosch type
dont make it your problem, take it back to webuycars, Goldwagon might sell it if you a DIY guy
It was bought from CMH. Yeah, I'll take the advice from everyone in this thread and not go screwing with it and just take it back to them.

Cool. Thanks guys.
