Yep, that is what I was wondering too. Resin + catalyst = bad news. Definitely a fire risk if too much catalyst is mixed with the resin, I didn't even think about that. I was also wondering about the transportation of the stuff.

Yeah, I will phone around tomorrow to find out what it costs down here. Thanks

I made a fiibreglass sub enclosure a while back, bought 1mx1m sheets of fibre mat and a 5l resin from the local auto paint shop... as well as a tin of body filler. Was pretty cheap. Try any place that sells car paint.

Don't buy from DIY shops, the are so expensive. My factory uses about 250 - 500kg resin a month. We prefer vinylester to polyester, it is a better resin in many ways for our application. Polyester is cheaper, and will work fine for any home DIY job. As for the glass, there are many types & weaves. Chop-strand is the more common but messy to use. More pricey glass would be your cloth or tapes.

As Ponder has mentioned, NCS & Harveys are national suppliers. I buy from Harveys these days, we have a very good working relationship with them. All their resins are manufactured locally at Crayvalley (Harveys Composites is a subsidery of Crayvalley these days).

I have quite a lot of fibreglass cloth 12 sqm. I won't need to buy large quantifies of resin, just a couple of litres at a time. At this point I reckon the DIY shops would be my only option as the suppliers would likely want you to buy barrels at a time.

Harveys you can supply you pretty much with what you require... lol... if you were based here, I would give you a couple of litres ;)

Oh for gods sakes just go to Harveys, it's not as complicated as you make it out to be.
