But this guy is too old to be a student, writing exams for that matter, and what he needs is more like an intervention or some sort of father figure in his life. They should give him a job and a car loan and see if he behaves himself then.

UCT rejects Maxwele ‘conspiracy theory’ claims

Cape Town - The University of Cape Town has rejected claims by the ANC Youth League and other organisations that student Chumani Maxwele’s suspension is part of a wider "conspiracy" against the student.

Maxwele was suspended from the university in May of this year following an altercation with a lecturer over study space on campus during a public holiday. His disciplinary hearing is still ongoing.

UCT has opened up the floodgates by humouring these nutters and getting rid of the Rhodes statue. There is no offering the hand without losing the whole arm.

It was necessary. Look at Hillbrow today and then. SA was safe, prosperous etc. It is a pity the ANC didn't take what apartheid had and only change the equality.

The thing is that there are witnesses to back up the lecturer's version of events. I did a bit of reading on the RMF Facebook page and Chumani seems to skirt around that little fact when someone asked what his side of the story was.
