Pool Data

I guess there is a risk with data usage but thinking its to do with their double mobile data. See if you pool data, then you more likely to use 80-100% of data vs 60-80% per account.

I think you hit the nail on the head there.

That and the fact that any technical people at Afrihost who know what they're doing are all running around panicking trying to sort out the huge issues they're having with their ADSL network not delivering.

This came up in the main AfriHost feedback thread, and I thought I'd put the reply in here for anyone who checks this thread for progress.

Basically it's not happening...

Priorities change, and projects get shifted around and updated continuously. At the moment, as AfriMan has pointed out, our Team has been focused on another major project and for the moment the shared Data Pool is not something we are considering at the moment.

I felt it was worth me also posting here, unfortunately I cannot see us launching Shared Data Pools anytime soon. There are a number of other projects that have been prioritized, and that we feel will have a greater impact with our Client. Spoilers.

It is going to be awesome.

No, it's not really. I don't give a damn about voice, I use Afrihost for data, and I'd really prefer buying one bundle for my laptop, Wifi router and iPad rather than juggling between three bundles.

Any chance for this yet?

Additionally for business solution which incl. managing pool data between devices

Afrihost are deaf on the subject.
I am looking into the IS Ignite shared data SIM's

No offence, but Afrihost are always late to the party.

No Bonded DSL
No True Uncapped Fiber Accounts (100mbps)
No Shared Data for Mobile
No Static IP on Capped services

I mistakenly assumed this was a standard option, upped my data package and bought a prepaid sim, contacted support (since I wasn't seeing an option online) and was promptly told :
Your request is something that cannot be done on any network...
mobile data does not work the same way as ADSL...
:crylaugh:

When I replied with a link to each of the mobile networks multi sim options I got a response to say Afrihost are unable to provide this functionality and they recommend I take two smaller packages  This throws the 'value proposition' out the window.
