Pool got black marks after adding chlorine

My pool just did the same today. Kids seem in the afternoon and I decided to put the blue52 all in one after that as it was looking dirty. It immediately turned black. I’m panicking. And funny is this is not the first time. I always put this blue52 all in one once a week. And I’ve never seen this. I hope tomorrow I’ll also report that it’s cleared itself because right now I’m in panic mode. The marks looks horrible

@ebendl I’d like to also confirm that my pool is fine now. The marks are gone after a couple of days. You were right. Thank you for sharing your experience. I panicked when I saw the marks. I guess I need to treat the pool for metal

chlorine is an oxidiser.if you scrape it with a finger nail does it come off .it may have burnt the topcoat ,or maybe its iron that has leeched trough
Chlorine does not drop iron out of solution. The opposite ion fact as Ferric chloride is water soluble.

op did you try pool acid?? Quite a generous amount...

interesting

since i was about 5, every house we had, had a pool.
all were marbelite - even mine to this day

only ever used hth chlorine & regular pool acid with a weekly ph test.
pools (water) were always sparkly clean.

2 of our houses had those filter systems with the multiple layers of discs with diatomaceous earth - magnificent water quality !
