Hi all

We resently moved into a new property where the pool was repainted
Unfortunately the contractors left some muddy footprints that is visible under the water and the pool has a "ring" around the top at water level. I have tried the standard pool brush without much success.

What is the best way to remove these?
It is a cement pool

Acid wash perhaps
This, and try a pool brush with steel bristles, since it's not fibreglass. For the footsteps, you might need to empty the pool if the steel brush doesn't do the job on its own.

Pro tip: Refill the pool at night with your neighbour's hosepipe ;)

Be carefull with the steel bristles tho, if the bristles fall out while you are working they'll rust and leave little rust lines at the bottom of your pool.

What worked for me was taking pool acid and putting it into a spray bottle and scrubbing with a pool brush. Do it at your own risk tho, and with ALL THE PPE.

The boot marks appear to be embedded in the paint, no amount of scrubbing or chemical will remove them without a recoat, unfortunately.

You may be able to remove the "ring" which appears to be a scum line with some chemical namely peroxide however you need to ensure that the pH level is correct in order for it to work.

If you're in Cape Town I'm glad to assist

The steel bristles will remove the paint, I tried it on my pool before. Best for that is an acid wash.
