Hi all,

We moved into a house with a pool in Oct 2022. According to the previous elderly owners the pool pump packed up and since no-one was using the pool they left it as is and we haven't done anything to it since moving in.

We're in CPT Parow area and I'm looking for recommendations on who to contact to come and take a look and then provide a quote to get the pool sorted.

Just by looking at it I figure requires at least a pump + filter and whatever goes along with that. Given that it's been pretty much empty and just recently the rains in CPT has started filling it it's rather dirty as well so it'll need a cleaning. Not sure if painting it is a requirement. Apparently everything worked before the pump failed but it'd be nice to test the systems before refilling it proper as well.
Also it's got a busted Clearwater Model C140 ... I'm assuming this can just be removed and then we just do chlorine/floater etc once it's sorted?

*Tried contacting Monte Vista Pools, just waiting for feedback....

Thanks in advance

Not from the area so won't have any contacts.

Think the strategy must be to get the pool drained first before stressing the new equipment into trying to clean up whatever lies beneath. Depending on the type of construction you maybe able to repair any cracks and while it's empty you rather just paint it.

It's going to cost more than you want to pay especially since you're probably already forking out a nice sum on a bond so if you're not in a position to bite that bullet I'd suggest holding back once you get a quote and fix it when you have the cash to splash.

Yeah this is my plan. I just want to get a quote or 2 to see what the options are and then we can decide on which route is best and in what order to do things.

If we could get away with emptying it, cleaning it and painting/repairing if required then I'm happy to do that and just getting a pool cover to cover it and keep it clean until equipment can be replaced and installed.
