I know nothing about pool tables
Actually I bought one for 1200. Plus trailer rental for 250. Mostly for kids.
Not sure what your point is. Before I bought I spent a few months looking at every advert in gauteng posted in olx , junkmail , gumtree , and a FB group I subscribed to. I think I have a pretty good feel for what pool tables go for and above is my thoughts. It's not worth 10k based on what's available now.
You disagree. No worries. For OP sake I hope there are more like you and he gets his ( your ) price. Maybe there are more like you out there who are actually looking and prepared to pay that price.
Very nice, hope you're all happy. I'm with you, and you do have a better understanding as you've bought one and put in the research.
Dolby's is an older, better quality pool table. It needs a re felt. I think that the key to maximising profit would be finding the right buyer, who would pay more due to its quality and aesthetics, and then refurb it.
I understand that good deals can be had on Gumtree. It's not necessarily an indication of the value of something though, as prices fluctuate due to desperation of, or ease of sale for the seller.
I think R5,000 is too low, but I could be wrong. I would go into selling it with the belief that to the right buyer, this item is more an art piece which would beautify a home. If so it can fetch higher than average prices, as it's likely to be more of a seller's market item than a buyer's.
