Telkom seems to have persistent authentication problems. These started a few months ago but the frequency is increasing. Technicians seem unable to resolve the problem. The service was down again yesterday.
The staff manning the 10215 number also seem to be kept in the dark by the technical staff. Often they do not know there is a problem. The help line has been swamped in recent days and callers were just left hanging.
One also has problems connecting - having to "dial" half a dozen times. It seems unlikely that this is due to gateway congestion with only 144 000 subscribers or is it??
Telkom urgently needs to address these problems which are now becoming critical for business users. The whole issue smacks of bad mangement. They need to fast track a solution now and include a crisis communications plan so at least customers know what is going on.
