Poor ADSL speed after rain

About five days ago and last night we had some rain. Both times I experienced low SNR and downlink speed. The previous time the issue was fixed or resolved itself. However this time the problem still persists. I have logged calls but they are closed without resolving my issue. I don't know if this problem is area wide or limited to our line. Maybe water entering the system somewhere?

EDIT: Just discovered the phone line is dead (no dial tone). Huh? ADSL up but phone line dead?

I had the same problem a few months ago. 10mb line syncing at 3mb & Voice line dead. Contacted Mweb as they manage the line & they got Telkom to sort it out in a few days It does sound like water getting into the Telkom box or corrosion on the line

Log a call, say you have line noise. If there is an issue they will hopefully find it, unless there is a cable problem then you are out of luck unless you move.
