Poor DStv reception on wireless tv

My TV is connected is to the internet via WiFi. I can watch Netflix perfectly but not DStv. DStv comes and goes and I often get a round circle on my TV. Almost appears let me it is waiting for a connection
Why is this?

DSTV uses a lot more bandwidth than Netflix. Netflix uses better compression. What speed is your Internet?

I have had the same issue previously... found DSTV to be less able to handle a slower / unstable connection and had to frequently kill the app or reboot to get the app to refresh and see that the internet connection was in fact back up....

I have 50Mbps fibre and DSTV app sometimes still buffers, I think it is just a bad app.

^^^ THIS. Even with something as smooth as a Chromecast. Blue circle and then out of sync with audio, restart channel.
