Hi

I have been with Vodacom for 12 years now. I've travelled throughout the country, to some very rural places and Vodacom has always been reliable. So I did not mind paying a slightly higher price knowing that I will always be connected.

I am currently working in a government hospital in the Free State. It is located in one of the "bigger cities".

My job requires me to always be contactable. Different hospitals/clinics may contact me to refer patients. Wards may also call me for emergencies.

My Vodacom number has no signal in most of the hospital. This issue is not exclusive to me but extends to all many other Vodacom users. It appears that only Vodacom subscribers are affected. Many colleagues have either not renewed their contracts, cancelled theirs or have tekn on new contracts with other providers.

This issue is a critical issue, and it can affect patients and increase mortality/morbidity.

My contract has come up for renewal and I am seriously considering changing providers, before I do that I would like to give Vodacom a chance to see what they can do to change the situation or offer some advice.

I've had no luck with the call center.

Any help/advice will be appreciated.

On behalf of many health care professionals working at my hospital.

Suggest you get the hospital operations dept to contact Vodacom for boosters to be installed within premises. You and Vodacom technicians will not get joy without that bureaucratic intervention.

Alternatively check which of any network has coverage within building with prepaid simcards you're hard pressed for a quick solution.

I've tried telling the manager. All they is thag that they are aware of the problem. They can't do anything about it.

Telkom appears to have the best signal. Might just get a chap phone and move my Vodacom to telkom when my contract expires.
