poor will be silenced if cellular fees are cut

CASHLESS customers who send 18-million text messages a day asking wealthier friends to call them back could be axed from Vodacom’s network if the interconnection fee for delivering the incoming calls are cut, said Vodacom yesterday.

This would be one service 90% of cellphone users in South Africa would welcome being axed! I have never received a "genuine call me" message in three years!

The "poor" will simply need to keep a few rands credit on the account, make a call wait until it rings and then end the call. Its what the rest of the "poor" in the rest of the world do!

If only there were "don't call me" service, then they would make big bucks!! :)
