Guys, would it be worthwhile getting this and using it with a normal 72cm CRT TV? Should I rather get a HD TV first before getting this? What's the quality like? I recently got into watching some HD stuff on my PC and it's quite awesome. Thoughts?

I would get it, I watched some HD content on my Grundig 74cm and it was really amazing. Although I would wait for Esquire to get the new HD units. They seem to play every kind of codec.

Thanks. The Popcorn Hour A-110 plays everything too.

Stock is a problem with this thing. Prices also seem to vary, so let's compare notes here first.

What would be the advantage of this as compared to be a PC if the PC has one of those motherboards with HDMI output?

No contest at all - PC wins hands down.
If the format is not supported you download a codec. Plays EVERYTHING with the right codec. DVD's and Blu Ray if you have a drive, you can record shows if you have a TV card etc, etc, etc.

Ah ha, yes.
Esquire is bringing in a very good unit at the end of the month. Very good reviews.

That sure looks like a leader in this field.

Just bought my TViX 6500, but would love to trade it for this - I'm just an hour's drive south of the Novatron factory.

The PopCorn Hour is most likely the best bang for the buck, which is most likely why there's a stock problem.

Okay, so on a 72cm TV, will the Popcorn Hour downscale the resolution to around 480p? How different would the quality be if I were watching something on DVD and the same thing in HD?
