popcorn in the microwave

Microwave popcorn is slopcorn. Get a popcorn maker and use butter.

make it without oil. 'tis what I do

Tastes horrible.

I got me that flavocol and yellow coconut oil and the machine below from Amazon....Easy and foolproof perfect popcorn.

We used to have a popcorn machine that had a little thing at the top where you can melt butter. That thing was awesome. Might have to get another one. I usually make my popcorn on the stove but when I'm feeling super lazy, I do microwave popcorn

Does the yellow oil taste different.?

No actually the oil is deodorised coconut oil with beta carotene. Just keeps the flavour of the popcorn neutral (unlike vegetable oil) and makes the popcorn yellow.

I recently moved over to a whole food/plant based lifestyle so don't use any oil. Since eliminating oil I find it impossible to make popcorn in a pot on the stove. The popcorn tastes burnt and it doesn't pop nearly as many kernels as when using oil. So I've conceded to using a microwave to pop my popcorn. I find it works best to do it in small batches to prevent it from burning.
