The Pope has become one of the oldest people to have his own YouTube channel.
Friday saw the launch of Pope Benedict’s YouTube channel which can be viewed at www.youtube.com/vaticanit
The channel will contain short video clips of the Pope’s activities as well as church events. The audio and texts will initially be in English, Spanish, German and Italian reported Reuters.
The Pope is taking a cautious leap into the 21st century and warned young people of the potential dangers of new media.
“If the desire for virtual connectedness becomes obsessive, it may in fact function to isolate individuals from real social interaction while also disrupting the patterns of rest, silence and reflection that are necessary for healthy human development,” he said.
