Popeyes SA

Looks cool, in the forums I have seen Americans rave about it - in terms of what Southern Fried chicken should be (not KFC).
 
KFC is SA's most successful fast food. I am sure that they will do ok based on KFC's popularity.

well most likely they will use the same method as KFC

i seen some videos where they fry chicken in like a fryer full of oil, where as KFC uses the penny feather i think its called

not sure what difference it makes though
 
I checked it out in Hong Kong during a stop over. Didn't try it though :/
 
Their official launch is on 12 July.
They have quite a few southern dishes on their menu. I want to try JAMBALAYA, because it sounds fun.
 
Supposed to be a more spicy fried chicken, also not cooked in a pressure cooker.
 
Me: Popeyes is coming to SA
Wife: **** me....and we will have to wait for it to come to CPT
Wife: now my dinner plans don't sound so grand

Probably not :-( we had a family friend who was from the States, we'd go and celebrate thanksgiving at her place and I still remember the biscuits.
 
What I want to know is are they going to be able to convince government to forgo the KFC and start buying votes with Popeys?
 
Just to be clear: A Biscuit in America is similar to what we call a scone.
