Hi guys

The POPI Act and compliance to the act, is this for any and all businesses to comply with? For example would you need to comply to the act if you have general contact details of your clients but basically only to phone them during the normal course of business?

Yes, not a POPIA expert but definitely yes.

You need to obtain consent from your clients in order to store their personal information.
 
Yes. But if you store their number safely and only call them for business you are compliant.

R100K, Can sort you out. Even issue you with letter written in MS Word, not Google docs. Totally legit.
 
2nd one going to cost you.

But jokes aside read the act. Depending on how big your company is, you might wanna go to a firm, Audit or Legal. But I would recommend you use an Internal Audit Firm. Cause they can tell "How" as well. Not just what you need to comply with.
