Hi All,

is anyone having problems connecting 3G in Port Alfred.

i have been unable to connect for the last few days,

any help will be great

k-

Not sure if its connected to your problem but the whole of the South Coast seems to be having problems. Very slow, have to disconnect and reconnect etc etc.

155's answer is upgrade to version 7 of mobile connect (no I don't believe it either!!!)

Apparently the problems aren't limited to the south coast, but are being experienced nationally? Something about a "core network issue".

Are any of you outside of the south coast experiencing problems? Specifically increasingly slow speeds throughout the day, peaking (at the lowest speed) around 17h30 and then sometimes even being disconnected. Only improves the next morning...

I imagine some read of the issue, then sit tight hoping it will be repaired having been noted.

However, I will now note (and whine :) ) that connection and speed sucks today, in Groot Brak.

Actually it has been flaky for a while but today was partic bad.

Cause must be all those new users flocking to the new VC hsdpa prices ..... :)

Strange that more people aren't complaining here then!

v3g any comments?

No, a lot of complaints here over the last three weeks.

The complaints dried up over the weekend but I suspect everybody got chatting about the new rates.

These are the common symptoms. Are you seeing something similar?

1) You're connected and can work. - Throughput drops way down, right to zero sometimes. - You stay connected but can't work. - Disconnect and reconnect sometimes fix the problem, other times not.

What symptoms are you seeing?

V3g,

that very much describes it, except that a disconnect / reconnect sometimes results in the wrt54G3g not being able to connect to the hsdpa network for a while. Usually clears up shortly.
