Good Morning Folks

I have had it with Nashuamobile and am strongly thinking about porting to MTNSP

Whilst i am aware im going to nothing much better than Nashua, at least I have numerous stores to go to, there online portal is much better for me to manage my contract etc etc.

Now I have had my cellphone number for 20yrs and DO NOT want to loose it.

How do I ensure this doesn't happen?

What are my legal rights to keep my number??

Please, any input will help me.

TIA

I am with MTN and they are the worst service provider imo, but they are still much better than going through Nashua in my opinion.

If you port you will keep your number, they are not allowed to take it away.

You must just be sure your contract has expired and that you are on prepaid now.

I don't know what will happen if you are still in contract.

I do agree about service. Personally i think they are all shoddy but hey. I reckon that I would need to give a month's notice, then once expired apply @ MTNSP

So there is a law that protects me?? Regarding keeping my number

You have to give 1 months notice while you're on contract. Your contract doesn't expire but goes into a month by month renewal at the end. So you still need to give a months notice to get out of the "monthly" contract and moved to prepaid.

Then you may approach another service provider and tell them you want to port your number. If you are no longer on contract it will be easy, but if you're still on contract the port will be declined.
