Port disconnected

Hi all

If this is in the FAQ i apologise , and must have missed it.

I have the novatel card with latest dash and latest firmware.
everynow and then my connection wont work and some error message comes up saying
connection failed.port not connected
1.please restart
2.make sure nothing else is using the card.
(recalled from my memory so wording might not be accurate.)

what does this mean ? how do i fix it?

ohbtw ... its a fujitsu-siemens s7010 laptop. xp pro - sp2

Check your device manager make sure that no conflicts . Change your resourse on the modem parent.disable xp sp2 firewall and use one of the others, PM to let me know if you still have problems..

thanx for the help , but u have lost me totaly hehehe

i cant find the resource thing you refer to , but i did all the rest of the things.

btw. if you try to query the modem , should it respond?(through device manager)
