Can someone please assist

My port forwarding worked flawlessly until about 2 week ago, didn't change anything other than installing Team Viewer (which I think created the problem - have subsequently uninstalled it)

Everything is set up correctly (even did a factory reset on my router)

Have no IP
Ports 8080, 8081, 5050 are forwarded to correct DDNS AND correct IP

But when I try and access it internal and external I get the error access rejected... I have even switched off my firewall but get same error.

Not sure what else to do here.

Firstly, it is impossible for Team Viewer to affect settings on your router. Now that that's out of the way :D

Show us a screenshot of your routers port forwards.

ok cool good to know about Team viewer -

Not home at the moment, but it goes something like

Name: Whatever I choose
Port Range: 8081 ~ 8081
IP: I my IP from Whatsmy ip and confirmed with Ipconfig
Selected TCP

There's your problem right there. Whatsmyip returns your public IP, you want to use the internal IP of the machine you're forwarding to.

Where do I find the internal IP?
What IP do I give to No IP?

Thanks for the response.

EDIT: Let me try and answer my own question here

So on my router when I set up port forwarding, do I use "default gateway" IP? And when I set up No IP I use the public one?

You don't have to give No-IP anything, the app will do this all automatically for you (or your router depending on how it's set up). If you do need to enter it manually for some reason then yes, here you must use your public IP (the one from whatsmyip).

Your internal IP is just the IP address of the computer on your network (e.g. 192.168.0.1), this is found by running ipconfig (in Windows) or ifconfig (in Linux/Mac) or just checking the status of your network connections from the status bar/system tray.

When I check the status of my connection it gives the same IP as the one I type into Whatsmyip

If no IP is supported by your router you should not have to give it your external IP address as it should auto update it.
Your external IP is assigned by your ISP. IPCONFIG will give your local one (Windows).

So if external (WhatsmyIP) is say 196.120.1.1 and internal is 192.168.1.1 (IPCONFIG) and you using say port 8080 then you forward ...

Port range 8080-8080 to
Internal: 192.168.1.1

Thank you both, this fixed my problem.

Now I can manage my usenet downloads all from mobile again - happy!!

Awesome. Enjoy :)

Agh so my problem started again. The domestic worker keeps pulling out my power cable to modem and pc...

I use nbz+ from my mobile to access sickbeard, sab and couch potato. But now again it's giving error that can't access. I checked and updated my ip4 address in static route. I can now access the port from the same pc, but trying something else on the same network (ipad, phone etc) I get the timeout issue.

Am I doing something wrong again?

Why do you need a static route?

Sorry I am confusing myself here. I mean in Port mapping.

So weird thing here. I deleted all my ports that were mapped and added sab 8080 again, now that works but the others give same error when I add them.

And my router keeps restarting when I open the port mapping area

Post a screenshot of the port mappings, can't tell you without knowing whats going on there.

Port forwards look good.

Things to check:

1. Are you 100% sure that's the correct internal IP address?
2. Is your DynDNS/No-ip address up to date?
3. Are these services actually running?

Silly questions but sometimes it's the little things.
